PREPROPOSAL STATEMENT OF INQUIRY

Subject of Possible Rule Making: Chapter 132P-33 WAC, Student rights and responsibilities.

Statutes Authorizing the Agency to Adopt Rules on this Subject: RCW 28B.50.140.

Reasons Why Rules on this Subject may be Needed and What They Might Accomplish: The last full review of the student rights and responsibilities at Yakima Valley Community College (YVCC) was in 1998. The rule is outdated and needs to be reviewed/revised to accommodate changes in local, state and federal guidelines.

Process for Developing New Rule: Agency study.
