In accordance with RCW 34.05.230(12), following is a list of policy and interpretive statements issued by the department of social and health services.

Document Title: Public Notice.

Subject: Transition plan for renewal of the New Freedom waiver.

Effective Date: February 1, 2015.

Document Description: Home and community services, a division of ALTSA, in cooperation with the health care authority is inviting the public to review and comment on the transition plan for the renewal of the New Freedom Waiver (WA# 0443). The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services require states to development [develop] a transition plan when submitting applications for a renewal or an amended 1915c waiver. The transition plan outlines the state's review of the waiver services and settings to ensure they meet the characteristics of home and community-based settings. There will be no significant changes to the services at the time of waiver renewal.

You may review the New Freedom transition plan and the draft waiver renewal application on the ALTSA web site at http://www.altsa.dshs.wa.gov/stakeholders/hcbs/. We need to receive your comments by November 14, 2014.
