Purpose: To adopt a new rule that allows seat belt exemptions to meter readers, similar to rural United States postal carriers and rural newspaper carriers.

NEW SECTION
WAC 204-41-060 Utility meter readers. Meter readers may be
exempted from the seat belt requirements only during the time they are
reading meters in residential areas and are continually in and out of
their vehicles. Seat belt use is required when traveling to and from
their actual route, or when on other utility business.
