EMERGENCY RULES
FISH AND WILDLIFE
Date of Adoption: June 4, 1999.
Purpose: Commercial fishing rules.
Citation of Existing Rules Affected by this Order: Repealing WAC 220-32-05700A; and amending WAC 220-32-057.
Statutory Authority for Adoption: RCW 75.08.080.
Under RCW 34.05.350 the agency for good cause finds that state or federal law or federal rule or a federal deadline for state receipt of federal funds requires immediate adoption of a rule.
Reasons for this Finding: This regulation adopts the tribal proposal to close the setline fishery in Bonneville Reservoir while leaving open the setline fishery in John Day Reservoir where harvestable numbers of sturgeon are available. This action is consist with the state/tribal management plan concerning sturgeon fisheries between Bonneville and McNary Dams. This regulation conforms state rules with tribal rules and is consistent with Compact Action of June 3, 1999. There is insufficient time to promulgate permanent rules.
