Subject of Possible Rule Making: Promotional contests of chance.
Statutes Authorizing the Agency to Adopt Rules on this Subject: RCW 9.46.070.
Reasons Why Rules on this Subject may be Needed and What They Might Accomplish: During the 2000 legislative session, the law relating to promotional contests of chance was changed. The new law prohibits any equipment or device that is made for a gambling activity to be used in a promotional contest, unless approved by the commission. New rules defining what types of promotional equipment or devices may be allowed for these contests will be up for discussion by the commission.
