Statutes Authorizing the Agency to Adopt Rules on this Subject: RCW 74.08.090.
Reasons Why Rules on this Subject may be Needed and What They Might Accomplish:
| • | To improve medical supervision of patients with a history of inappropriate use of medical and pharmaceutical services. |
| • | To reduce expenditures on unnecessary and inappropriate services. |
Other Federal and State Agencies that Regulate this Subject and the Process Coordinating the Rule with These Agencies: Centers for Medicare and Medicaid services (CMS) -- Assess need for state plan amendment; Washington State Department of Health and State Board of Pharmacy -- Involve them in stakeholder meetings and review of drafts.
