PREPROPOSAL STATEMENT OF INQUIRY
Subject of Possible Rule Making: Funeral directors and embalmers, funeral director and embalmer internships.
Statutes Authorizing the Agency to Adopt Rules on this Subject: RCW 18.39.175 and chapter 34.05 RCW.
Reasons Why Rules on this Subject may be Needed and What They Might Accomplish: No internship guidelines have been developed since the implementation of the internship program in 1937 under RCW 18.39.120, other than course of training requirements. Rules are needed to establish internship guidelines.
Other Federal and State Agencies that Regulate this Subject and the Process Coordinating the Rule with These Agencies: None.
Process for Developing New Rule: Study by the board of funeral directors and embalmers.
