Lowering of the Washington State and United States Flags
I hereby direct that Washington state and United States
flags at all state agency facilities be lowered to half-staff
on Thursday, August 27, 2009, in memory of U.S. Army First
Sergeant Jose S. Crisostomo, of Spanaway, who died August 18
in Kabul, Afghanistan, of injuries sustained when a
vehicle-borne improvised explosive device detonated near his
military vehicle. Please notify your staff and all of your field offices
and facilities around the state.
Flags should remain at half-staff until close of business
on Thursday, or first thing Friday morning.
Other government entities, citizens and businesses are
encouraged to join this recognition.
