PREPROPOSAL STATEMENT OF INQUIRY
Subject of Possible Rule Making: Chapter 132V-116 WAC, Parking and traffic rules and regulations.
Statutes Authorizing the Agency to Adopt Rules on this Subject: RCW 28B.50.140(10).
Reasons Why Rules on this Subject may be Needed and What They Might Accomplish: (1) To protect and control pedestrian and vehicular traffic on property owned, operated and maintained by the college district.
(2) To assure access at all times for emergency equipment.
(3) To minimize traffic disturbances.
(4) To facilitate the operation of the college by assuring access for vehicles.
(5) To regulate the use of parking spaces.
Process for Developing New Rule: Agency study.
Interested parties can participate in the decision to adopt the new rule and formulation of the proposed rule before publication. Revisions to the current WAC are being studied by various groups on campus that include students, faculty, staff and administrators.
