Document Title: Medicaid Provider Notice 12-31.
Subject: Hospice and physicians medicaid provider guide.
Effective Date: May 18, 2012.
Description: Effective for dates of service on and after May 18, 2012, the medicaid program of the health care authority (the agency) published a revised Hospice Services Medicaid Provider Guide. The guide's revisions reflect the recent changes to chapter 182-551 WAC, Subchapter 1.
Specific changes to the guide include:
Adding a requirement that a hospice physician or nurse practitioner have and document face-to-face encounter(s) with each client to determine continued eligibility thirty days before the client's one hundred eighty day recertification requirement.
Adding concurrent care for clients twenty years of age and younger, including the availability of concurrent/curative care benefits (what is and is not covered), and requirements for authorization.
