Purpose of the Proposal and Its Anticipated Effects, Including Any Changes in Existing Rules: Amendments to chapter 196-26A WAC are necessary to make a reduction in renewal fees charged to licensees. These adjustments are being made to assure revenue collections are consistent with expenditures and do not result in an over-collection.
Reasons Supporting Proposal: This proposal will reduce the renewal fees that professional engineers and land surveyors pay the state thus making their access to state services less burdensome and their cost to do business lower. The limited suspension (two years) will enable the department and the program to more quickly respond to changing economic impacts.
Statutory Authority for Adoption: RCW 18.43.080, 43.24.086.
