Subject of Possible Rule Making: WAC 246-817-360 Prescribing, dispensing or distributing drugs, consider modifying the term "dental-related condition" to be consistent with the definition of practice of dentistry in RCW 18.32.020.
Statutes Authorizing the Agency to Adopt Rules on this Subject: RCW 18.32.0365.
Reasons Why Rules on this Subject may be Needed and What They Might Accomplish: RCW 18.32.685 authorizes a pharmacist to fill prescriptions of legally licensed dentists of this state for any drug necessary in the practice of dentistry. A rule modification may bring the rule language more in line with the statute and remedy inconsistent interpretation of the rule among stakeholders.
Other Federal and State Agencies that Regulate this Subject and the Process Coordinating the Rule with These Agencies: None.
Process for Developing New Rule: Collaborative.
