Statutes Authorizing the Agency to Adopt Rules on this Subject: RCW 41.05.021, 41.05.160.
Reasons Why Rules on this Subject may be Needed and What They Might Accomplish: Under Washington's medicaid transformation project 2.0 in accordance with Section 1115(a) of the Social Security Act, the health care authority (HCA) is amending these sections to provide reentry services before the beneficiary's expected date of release. During this review, HCA may identify additional related changes that improve clarity or update policy.
