Subject of Possible Rule Making: Washington state office of independent investigations' public records rules and procedures for processing public records requests under the Public Records Act.

Statutes Authorizing the Agency to Adopt Rules on this Subject: RCW 42.56.040.

Reasons Why Rules on this Subject may be Needed and What They Might Accomplish: RCW 42.56.040 requires each state agency to publish in WAC descriptions of its central and field organization and the established places at which, the employees from whom, and the methods whereby, the public may obtain information, make submittals or requests, or obtain copies of agency decisions.

Process for Developing New Rule: Collaborative rule making.
