BOARD OF ACCOUNTANCY

Subject of Possible Rule Making: WAC 4-30-060 Education requirements, 4-30-070 Experience requirements, 4-30-072 What are the responsibilities of a verifying CPA?, and 4-30-080 Initial individual CPA license requirements.

Statutes Authorizing the Agency to Adopt Rules on this Subject: RCW 18.04.055.

Reasons Why Rules on this Subject may be Needed and What They Might Accomplish: The proposed rule changes are intended to:

WAC 4-30-060, update the education requirements to provide additional pathways to certified public accountant (CPA) licensure.

WAC 4-30-070, update the experience requirements to provide additional pathways to CPA licensure.

WAC 4-30-072, update pronouns and rename the rule.

WAC 4-30-080, update the initial licensure requirements to provide additional pathways to CPA licensure.

Process for Developing New Rule: Agency study.
