[Filed April 30, 2025, 12:27 p.m.]
Subject of Possible Rule Making: Classification of chiropractic procedures and instrumentation. The chiropractic quality assurance commission (commission) is considering amending WAC 246-808-505 Classification of chiropractic procedures and instrumentation, to better align the rule language with the statutory language and to modernize and streamline current language. The commission may also consider further amendments based on research and interested party input.
Statutes Authorizing the Agency to Adopt Rules on this Subject: RCW 18.25.005 and 18.25.0171.
Reasons Why Rules on this Subject may be Needed and What They Might Accomplish: The current rule, WAC 246-808-505 Classification of chiropractic procedures and instrumentation, has not been updated since 1996. The commission voted to consider rule making in order to modernize and streamline language with statutory language. The commission, under chapter 18.25 RCW, is required to regulate the competency and quality of professional health care providers under its jurisdiction by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing consistent standards of practice and discipline, and those rules, policies, and procedures. The commission is considering rule making in order to better promote the delivery of quality health care to the residents of the state.
Process for Developing New Rule: Collaborative rule making.
Interested parties can participate in the decision to adopt the new rule and formulation of the proposed rule before publication by contacting Betty Moe, P.O.
