POLICY STATEMENT

This memo serves as notice that the board of osteopathic medicine and surgery (board) is rescinding OP22-01, Telemedicine, which was filed July 16, 2022, and published under WSR 22-15-061.

The purpose of this policy statement was to provide guidance to osteopathic physicians who use telemedicine to provide medical services to Washington patients.

The board is rescinding this policy statement because ESSB 5481 (chapter 212, Laws of 2024), the Uniform Telemedicine Act was enacted. This bill went into effect on June 6, 2024, resulting in the board's telemedicine policy, OP22-01, becoming superseded.
