Subject of Possible Rule Making: WAC 308-104-027 Effect of accumulation of traffic infractions, and new rule in chapter 308-104 WAC, Drivers' licenses.
Statutes Authorizing the Agency to Adopt Rules on this Subject: RCW
46.01.110 Rule-making authority.
Reasons Why Rules on this Subject may be Needed and What They Might Accomplish: SHB 1244, which amended RCW
46.20.2892, creates a process for termination of a suspension when a driver takes a safe driving course. The department of licensing is conducting rule making to further clarify the process for termination of a suspension for the accumulation of traffic infractions as outlined in SHB 1244 concerning training as an alternative to driver license suspension for the accumulation of certain traffic infractions.
Process for Developing New Rule: Negotiated rule making.
