This memo serves as notice that the examining board of psychology (board) is rescinding EBOP-20-02.2, Virtual Supervision for Psychology Internships and Preinternships during and following the COVID-19 Declared Emergency, which was filed August 8, 2023, and published as WSR 23-17-029.

This statement established the board's policy that, during the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) declared emergency, the requirement for "face-to-face individual supervision" in chapter 246-924 WAC could be fulfilled by virtual supervision. This policy was extended past the COVID-19 declared emergency until the board could adopt permanent rules addressing the use of virtual supervision. The board is rescinding this policy because the board recently completed rule making on this subject, filed under WSR 25-15-068, and effective August 14, 2025. As a result, this policy statement is no longer needed.
