Subject of Possible Rule Making: Physical therapy licensure compact fee increases in WAC 246-915A-990. The department of health (department), in consultation with the board of physical therapy (board), is considering amendments to increase the compact fees.

Reasons Why Rules on this Subject may be Needed and What They Might Accomplish: The department, in consultation with the board, sets fees pursuant to RCW 43.70.250 for physical therapists and physical therapist assistants seeking to practice in this state by use of compact privilege as defined in RCW 18.74.500. The fees established must be an amount sufficient to cover the state's monetary obligations as a member state to the physical therapy licensure compact. Increases to fee amounts are needed in rule to be enforceable and fulfill the state's monetary obligations as a member of the compact.
