NOTICE
Subject: Medicaid 1915 (b)(4) Waiver Renewal Application for Selective Contracting to Continue the Consumer Directed Employer Program.
Effective Date: October 1, 2026.
Description: In 2018, the Washington state legislature passed SB 6199 authorizing the department of social and health services (DSHS) to create a consumer directed employer program. The state filed a 1915 (b)(4) waiver application for selective contracting with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, which was approved with an effective date of October 1, 2021. The health care authority and DSHS intend to submit a 1915 (b)(4) waiver renewal application to extend this approval for another five years, effective October 1, 2026.
The home and community living administration would appreciate any input or concerns regarding the waiver renewal.
