Subject of Possible Rule Making: The department of fish and wildlife (department) is considering a recommendation to classify the burrowing owl as state endangered, threatened, or sensitive, as defined under chapters 220-610 and 220-200 WAC.
Reasons Why Rules on this Subject may be Needed and What They Might Accomplish: The department was petitioned in 2023 to draft the status report for burrowing owl.
Other Federal and State Agencies that Regulate this Subject and the Process Coordinating the Rule with These Agencies: None.
Process for Developing New Rule: Agency study.
