PREPROPOSAL STATEMENT OF INQUIRY

Subject of Possible Rule Making: Implement provisions of chapter 247, Laws of 1997 (SB 5266) related to certificates of authorization for corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies. Amend existing rules as required and adopt fees.

Statutes Authorizing the Agency to Adopt Rules on this Subject: RCW 18.43.035, chapter 247, Laws of 1997, and RCW 43.24.086.

Reasons Why Rules on this Subject may be Needed and What They Might Accomplish: Amend existing rules due to statutory revision. Establish application procedure for limited liability companies and set fees as required by chapter 247, Laws of 1997.

Other Federal and State Agencies that Regulate this Subject and the Process Coordinating the Rule with These Agencies: None.

Process for Developing New Rule: Agency study; and rule advisory committee will be established to assist in drafting rules and procedures. Interested parties may request to participate on this committee.
